If you have been charged with Hit and Run in Washington you are being accused of a serious crime. You are subject to up to a year in jail, a $5,000 fine and license suspension in addition to higher insurance rates for up to three years.
Hit and Run "Attended" in Washington State (RCW 46.52.020)
This is a crime that involves hitting a vehicle where there is either a driver or an occupant who is not injured and then leaving the scene. If you are a driver who is involved in an accident with an occupied vehicle, you must stop and provide your name, address, insurance company, insurance policy number, vehicle license number, and driver's license. If you leave the scene without providing this information and are later found, a charge of Hit and Run "Attended" will almost certainly be filed. The State has 2 years from the date of the incident to file charges.
The state must prove that you were aware of the accident. It is not necessary that you know or were aware that the other vehicle was occupied, even though this fact is what elevates the charge from a misdemeanor to a gross misdemeanor. If convicted of this section, your license will be revoked for a period of at least one year.

I just wanted to write you a brief email regarding the HIT & RUN/DUI/Negligent driving case that you recently represented me in.
I wanted to express my sincerest appreciation and gratitude for the work that you did while representing me. Not only did you help make a very stressful and concerning period of time less stressful and chaotic, you also helped offer me some peace of mind and reassurance throughout the course of the case that every minor detail was being taken care of and handled in the appropriate and necessary way. Perhaps more important, you and your talented and knowledgeable firm of attorneys helped achieve a very favorable outcome in the case that I did not even believe to be a possibility because of your work ethic, commitment to excellence, and dedication to your clients.
I am so fortunate and thankful to have been represented by you, and just wanted to let you know how appreciative I am of all the time and hard work you put in.
Thank you so much for everything, and I know that if I ever know of a friend or family member that finds themselves in a similar set of circumstances to the ones that I was facing, the first person I will refer them to will be you. Thanks again,
E W. - Seattle, WA I first had the pleasure of meeting Jeannie back in 2005. I watched as she reduced 3 "impossibly hopeless" speeding tickets to minor non-moving infractions. Her rapport with the court was impressive and I logged in the back of my mind that if I needed the services of a traffic lawyer, she would be my first call. Fast forward to earlier this year, 2010. I was given a serious moving violation for a trivial issue in the city of Redmond and immediately called Jeannie. Her offices kept me up to date on the trial process and they were able to reduce the infraction from one that would have negatively affected my record and insurance to something with no long-term implications. This also saved me from taking numerous days off from work to appear in court; well worth her fees alone. All in all, great experience and I would recommend Jeannie's law services to anyone, anytime in WA. Thanks Jeannie!
Brad B. - Kent, WA Jeannie Mucklestone is flat-out the best period. I have used Jeannie on many occasions over the past few years and her record is PERFECT in defending me. Her record in defending me, and personal friends i have recommended to her, is 14-0. I just received another favorable verdict letter from her today and in looking back in my file, her representation fee has not increased since the first time I hired her in November 2001! In one of my speeding ticket cases, she showed up for the case, but requested a new court date so that she might get a more favorable judge to hea the case. Most people I'm sure would have kept the original date and i would have been stuck with the verdict that was handed down. Jeannie actually took the time to go back to court a second time on my behalf and it didnt cost me anything additional. She goes above and beyond and I could not be more pleased with her services. Thank you Jeannie (aka "The Impenatrable Shield") Brad B.
David R. - Kirkland, WA We highly recommend Jeannie without reservation. Quick, professional, concise, stress-free yet affordable. She is batting 1000 for our family with four speeding tickets plus another more complicated infraction. Absolutely worth choosing Jeannie vs paying the ticket and living with the insurance impact for years. Go to her website and follow the instructions. would definitely hire Jeannie again if I had a problem with a traffic ticket in Washington State!
I got a speeding ticket in Ritzville when on my way to Montana with my family. My sister Jackie (who is a death penalty lawyer) recommended Jeannie Mucklestone. I hired Jeannie. Today I received a letter in the mail from Jeannie notifying me that the matter was dismissed upon her motion to suppress. I was thoroughly impressed with Jeannie and her office. Very reasonable fees. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat. Don't do it on your own, it will be more expensive. Good luck. John W. Attorney at Law
Philippe G. - Seattle, WA Great attorney who helped me get rid of a speeding ticket in Eastern Washington. Excellent communication.
